 I could use a little snow tiger blood!

That pic of the guy turning onto I-95 looks like he's pulling one of the new Harbor Freight trailers with a custom paint. On sale right now for $349.99
I bought one earlier this year on an open box special at my local HF, put it together, stuck a for sale sign on it, and sold it within a week to a guy with a trike.

For years people have bought the small HF utility trailer and narrowed it and put a car topper on top of it. It seems that HF caught on and are building them that way, now. I had one and didn't have any problems, and I believe that 50Pan has one.

That being said, I came across a used CycleMate motorcycle trailer and picked it up. I really like the torsion ride on the CycleMate. Big Dan had followed me and that trailer for many miles and I'm sure that he would state how smooth it rides. I actually sold my homemade HF trailer for what the CycleMate cost me.

Still, the HF is a great deal for the  money. The leaf springs may give you a little more bounce, but at a sane and reasonable speed you shouldn't have any problems. It is made in China and you have to assemble it.
It boils down to how much you want to spend. Do you want Cadillac or Kia?

I built one years ago. I got a HF trailer on sale. I got the one with 12 inch tires. I had to cut the frame down and I removed one of the leaf springs remounted the axle on top of the springs to lower it.  I added about 2 foot to the tongue to make it pull better. At the university we were replacing toilet partitions that year and the ones we got were the hard plastic ones, They came packed in a large 4X8 sheet of 3/8 thick plastic stock that I got my hands on. It made for a indestructible base to put the car topper on. I think I got about $350 to $400 in it. So that is not a bad price, but it looks like it has 8 inch wheels.
What do you care what other people think.

I had the HF trailer with 12" wheels too. This one has the 8" wheels. My CycleMate has 8" wheels too, but the wheels are cheap enough that I just replace them every couple of years. I have bearing buddies on my trailer and repack the bearings every year. This HF trailer does have a grease zerk for the bearings.

I really don't have a problem with the 8" wheels, but you do have to keep an eye on the bearings because the small tires spin so much faster.
